What I collect, and what I do with it.
Last updated 14 September 2026.
Who this is
This site, www.shmigelsky.com, is run by Jeffrey Shmigelsky, an independent consultant in Vancouver, BC. I decide what happens to the information described here. You can reach me at jeffrey@activeq.io or 604-902-9240.
What I collect
- What you type into the booking form: your name, work email, company, the revenue band you choose, and what you'd most like AI to fix. The form saves what you have typed as you go, so if you get interrupted before sending it, I may still hold a partial version.
- What you send by email, phone or an ad form: whatever you choose to tell me. If you fill in a lead form inside a Google ad, Google passes me the same details.
- When you book a call: the booking runs on Google Calendar, which collects your name, email and your answer to the question on that form, and adds the call to my calendar.
- How you found the site: pages visited, the referring site or ad, an advertising click identifier, approximate location from your IP address, and device and browser type.
Why I collect it
- To reply to you and set up a call.
- To prepare for that call, so I'm not asking you things you have already told me.
- To see which pages and which ads bring people who get in touch, and to spend accordingly.
- To keep the site working and to prevent spam and abuse.
I do not sell your information, rent it, or share it for anyone else's marketing. I don't send a newsletter, and I won't add you to a mailing list because you booked a call.
Who else handles it
I use a small number of services to run the site. They process this information on my instructions, and each has its own privacy terms. Their servers are generally in the United States, so information about you may be stored or processed outside Canada.
- Vercel — hosts the site and stores what the booking form captures.
- Resend — sends the email that tells me about your request, and the confirmation that goes to you.
- Google — Analytics and Ads to measure traffic and advertising, and Google Calendar for bookings. Where Google Ads asks for it, an email address may be sent in hashed form so a lead can be matched to an ad click.
- PostHog — product analytics, so I can see how the site is used.
Cookies and analytics
Analytics cookies from Google Analytics and PostHog tell me how many people visit, which pages they read, and which links they use. You can block them in your browser, or use its Do Not Track or tracking-protection setting, and the site will still work normally. Nothing on this site requires you to accept cookies.
How long I keep it
Enquiries and bookings: as long as there is a reason to, which for most is the length of our conversation and any work that follows, and at most three years after we last spoke. Partial form entries that never turn into a conversation: twelve months. Analytics data is kept on the schedule those services use, currently fourteen months in Google Analytics.
Your choices
Ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, and I will — email jeffrey@activeq.io. There is no form to fill in and no charge. If you'd rather I forgot a conversation entirely, say so and I'll delete the record.
This site is run from British Columbia and follows Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act. If you think I have handled your information badly, tell me first — and you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This site sells services to businesses. It isn't meant for children, and I don't seek their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be obvious on this page rather than buried.
